MEET AUDREY

Competing in Triathlon was something I thought I could never achieve.  After crossing the finish line of my first sprint distance race, I was absolutely hooked on the triathlon lifestyle that focused on “sport for life”.  I met so many amazing people from all over the world, of all ages, developed life long friendships, and traveled to race in places I never imagined I would.

Since 2003, I have competed in 12 Ironman distance races, represented Canada three times at the ITU Triathlon Age Group Worlds, and I compete regularly in all distances of triathlon events including mountain biking, road cycling, trail running, and adventure racing.

My journey has not been easy, and I have had my share of “life’s obstacles” (surgeries, bike crashes, health issues). Throwing in the towel and giving up on the endurance lifestyle was not an option and I continued to persevere through all the ups and downs.  It was through sharing my stories with others that I realized how much I was inspiring others to try something they too also thought they would never do. This gave me the biggest joy in my training and racing journey and it was then that I decided to become a triathlon coach in 2009.

The greatest gift I receive everyday is seeing my athletes accomplish goals they never thought possible.  Whether it is simply hiking to the highest mountaintop, swimming open water for the first time, riding a road bike for the first time, or taking their newfound fitness to explore places in the world they never imagined possible.

COACHING

Individualized training programs are designed to help athletes excel in their chosen multisport endurance events. Training plans are created to fit your current lifestyle, taking into consideration your current level of fitness, time for training, and personal life goals.  Specializing in all endurance events: Swimming, biking (mountain & road), running (trail & road), Xterra, Adventure Racing, including nutrition counseling and support.

I will meet with you for a complimentary; no commitment first meeting to determine if a coach-athlete relationship will be successful for both of us.
We will work together to create short and long-term fitness and racing goals.
Workouts are provided in 1-2 week blocks with detailed description of the workout, including duration, intensity, heart rate, (and power zones if applicable). Workouts can be adjusted daily based on your feedback and my observations of your training feedback.
You will have unlimited telephone/text/FaceTime access (8am-8pm PST, athlete initiated) and email communication with your coach as well as unlimited revision of your training program. You will receive ongoing advice/discussions on training, equipment, recovery strategies, injury prevention, and tips on ways to balance life’s obstacles while maintaining your fitness goals.
Coaching is supplied through the online Training Peaks software where your workouts will be posted on your own personal coaching page and you will be able to enter the details of your workouts for analysis by your coach. You will be able to upload your downloadable heart rate and power data (if applicable) from your training devices for coach analysis.

If you do not live locally, we will determine the best option for you to have heart rate and training zones completed. As your multisport coach I will attempt to make personal contact with my athletes in their communities if logistically possible and will provide options for video analysis of swimming, biking, and running along with 1:1 training sessions when schedules permit.
You will have pre-race consultation detailing race strategy, goals, pacing, nutrition, and metal focus preparation. Post race analysis of how your race/event went, including heart rate and power analysis if applicable.
Computer, heart rate monitor, (preferably a downloadable device), bike computer that has cadence/MPH/KPH/distance and optional power meter.
I believe everyone should have access to coaching. I know there are hundreds of professional coaching companies that have incredibly high coaching rates, and those rates are very intimidating for a lot of first time endurance athletes. All clients will receive a free two-hour consultation and coaching programs that start from $100/month and depending on the location and amount of 1:1 time an athlete requires, rates are caped at $300/month. There is a one-time start up fee of $50 for all athletes new to PMC.

“Audrey came into my life exactly when I needed her to. I was three months away from competing in my first Ironman, which was also going to be my first triathlon. At the time, I didn’t own a road bike or a wetsuit. I had been following a training plan online, but was nowhere near where I needed to be. Audrey had her work cut out for her. Audrey didn’t just get me to the start line, her encouragement, positivity, support, guidance and expertise helped me get to the finish. She did hands on training with me in all disciplines and knew when and how hard to push me. She was also intuitive enough to know when I needed to ease up because of adversity I had in my life without even having to tell her. Audrey’s own accomplishments, determination, tenacity and drive served as an incredible inspiration to me and kept me going on many occasions. She is a wonderful mentor, and I look forward to training with her in the future”

I have told many people triathlon saved my life, and has given me gifts that have enriched my life in ways that are immeasurable.  Meeting Audrey in 2004 has been one of those gifts.  I met Audrey shortly after I found triathlon, where we became training partners and friends.  Even before Audrey was officially my coach, she was cheering me on and helping me feel I could attain goals I would not thought possible.

Audrey has been officially coaching me since 2009 where I had a 1.5 hour personal best at the Vancouver half ironman.  Since then, I met my ironman goals, had a third place finish at the Victoria half ironman, and have participated in numerous successful running and multi-sport events under her guidance.

Her attitude and passion to empower people to lead their best life through training and participating in multi-sport is contagious.  I am a very busy working Mom of two teenage girls, and I am lucky to have found a coach who believes in finding a balance between life and training. When I think of Audrey I think about an excerpt from a Marianne Williamson poem.  If I was to say, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Audrey would reply, “Actually, who are you not to be…we are all meant to shine!”  She wants all her clients to shine – in whatever they wish to attain.
